Genshin Impact: The Adventure Continues in Nod-Krai

Much to fans' surprise, HoYoverse announced on July 17, 2025, the continuation of the Genshin Impact adventure in Nod-Krai. Indeed, this surprising announcement overturned the collective hypothesis that Snezhnaya would be the next region. But the astonishment does not prevent the community from eagerly awaiting this novelty.

Nod-Krai: The Unexpected Region

According to Teyvat tradition, a new region means a new area to explore, a new story quest, and new regional mechanics. But above all, new characters. HoYoverse will present more details during the September 29 livestream, but here's what we already know.

New Mechanic: “Lunar Reactions”

Lunar reactions are the new combat mechanic introduced with the Nod-Krai region. Let's summarize how they work: if an attack from a Nod-Krai character interacts with another element, lunar energy will imbue the reaction, which will thus differ from a classic reaction. For example, if Ineffa's (Electro character) attacks interact with the Hydro element, the Electro-Charged reaction will be converted into a Selenocharged reaction, and a stormy cloud will appear, dealing Electro damage to nearby targets.

Beyond the visual aspect, the main difference between the two reactions lies in the fact that lunar reactions are capable of dealing critical damage. This new mechanic thus allows classic elemental interactions to be transformed into more powerful and strategic reactions.

New Characters: Lauma, Flins, and Aino

HoYoverse has already confirmed the release of three Nod-Krai characters for the 6.0 launch:

• Flins, a 5* Electro character from the Lightbringers faction, wielding a spear. His main DPS kit is based on the Selenocharged reaction, whose Electro element will be applied by his normal attack boosted by his skill (like Yoimiya).
• Aino, a 4* Hydro character from the Clink-Clank Krumkake Workshop faction, wielding a claymore. Aino is an off-field sub-DPS who notably boosts lunar reactions, the ideal support for Flins. Also, she will be given to players for free during the version.
• Finally, Lauma, a 5* Dendro character from the Emissaries of the Frozen Moon faction, wielding a catalyst. She will introduce a new lunar reaction: Lunar Bloom. Her support role is therefore to enhance the damage of Lunar Bloom, but also that of other reactions related to the Dendro element (Bloom, Burgeon, Hyperbloom, etc.).

These are the confirmed characters for 6.0. But the list of characters still expected for the rest of Nod-Krai is long. The most probable are Sandrone, Columbina, Varka, and Alice, whose playability has been confirmed by reliable leakers.

New Main Quest

With this new region will come a new Archon quest. This will allow players to explore the first area of Nod-Krai, as well as meet the different factions that inhabit it and discover the various dynamics that drive them. Watch the livestream to learn more about the story that awaits us!
